A PUPPY was badly injured after being attacked by three other dogs in Chalfont St Peter.

A witness said the white puppy was set upon while being walked across Gold Hill Common in the village shortly after 9am on Thursday, October 17.

Members of the public were eventually able to separate the animals, with the attacked puppy being taken to a vet with serious injuries. It is expected to make a recovery from its ordeal.

Police are now investigating the incident, which has been classified as 'a person in charge allowing dog to be dangerously out of control'.

The dogs which attacked the puppy are described as being medium sized golden brown dogs and could be Staffordshire terriers.

Witness Ania Lubliner told the Bucks Free Press: "The owner of the puppy and the dogs tried to set the yelping puppy free from one dog in particular but it was so ferocious and its jaws were clenched onto the puppy so hard, they were not succeeding.

"At one point the puppy was set free from the dog and it looked like its owner hid it in her jumper. The dogs carried on attacking however and jumping up onto the woman holding the dog so that in the end the puppy ended up in the jaws of one of the dogs again."

Thames Valley Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and anyone with information on the incident should contact officers on 101.
