An accountant has gone from maths to marathons after taking on the running challenge of a lifetime.

Despite being more familiar with reports than races, Mark Hill, from Chalfont St Giles, is running not one but two marathons in aid of the British Skin Foundation.

Mark will be dusting off his trainers, donning his shorts and heading to the seaside as he attempts his first ever 26.2 mile run at the Brighton Marathon on April 12.

Exactly two weeks later on April 26, he will be taking in the famous sights of central London during his next marathon attempt.

The 34-year-old, who has never run a marathon before, said: “I have opted to take on the Brighton and London Marathon double, with just two weeks recovery between the two.

Mark has chosen to raise money for the British Skin Foundation after his mum suffered with the disease.

He said: “I want to run for the BSF due to the work they do around skin cancer, including raising awareness.

“This is particularly important to me as my mum had suffered with a malignant melanoma in the past and has undergone major surgery.”

Mr Hill is hoping to raise at least £1,000 for the British Skin Foundation’s It Takes 7 skin cancer appeal.
