A MAN sustained a serious head injury after being beaten by a man with a baseball bat over a financial dispute, police say.
The 48-year-old was treated at Wexham Park Hospital after he was assaulted in Layters Close, Chalfont St Peter, at 7.15pm yesterday.
Police have moved to reassure the public that this was not a random attack and believe it is as a result of a financial disagreement.
Det Insp Sharon Hill said: “This was a nasty attack which left the victim with serious head injuries. He is now recovering well in hospital.
“I would like to reassure residents that this is not a stranger attack. The victim and the suspect are known to each other and we believe this incident is as a result of a financial issue between the two of them.
“We have spoken to some witnesses who came to the victim’s aid, however we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything which may assist officers with their enquiries.”
Contact police on the non-emergency enquiry line 101 with any information.
