Chesham paedophile jailed for three and a half years

Bryan Lee was caged for three and a half years on Friday after admitting a string of almost 40 offences, which included having more than 3,500 indecent images of children on his computer.

He posed as a 15-year-old boy and told his victims to perform sex acts after contacting them via a social media website.

The 46-year-old's crimes were committed over a period of nearly three years until specialist officers from Thames Valley Police raided his home in Gordon Road, Chesham, in April 2012.

Officers were able to identify a number of victims from examining records on his computer and mobile phone.

They also discovered he was inciting children to engage in sexual activity from looking at chat logs on his computer.

All of Lee's victims were girls aged between 13 and 15 who he approached via the website MyYearbook, a social media site now called MeetMe.

Police also discovered a total of 3,551 indecent images and videos of children on Lee’s computer. Of these, 51 of them were of the most serious level five.

Lee pleaded guilty to 12 counts of making indecent images of children, 10 counts of causing/inciting a female under 16 to engage in penetrative sexual activity, four counts of causing/inciting a female under 16 to engage in none penetrative sexual activity, and 12 counts of taking indecent images of children.

He was sentenced to a total of three and a half years behind bars after admitting the offences during a hearing at Amersham Crown Court.

Speaking after sentencing, Det Con Lisa Heaton of the Paedophile Online Investigation Team said: "Bryan Lee epitomises the dangers posed to children by online paedophiles. He pretended to be a charming 15-year-old boy and, through devious and emotional means, he preyed on young victims.

"It is because of the bravery of his victims that Lee starts his sentence. 

"I would like to pay thanks to the victims and their families for their courage and resolve in bringing Lee to justice."
