A WOMAN who was arrested after the death of a baby in Chesham has been bailed.
Police were called to a house in Deansway, Chesham, on Wednesday after a baby girl was rushed to hospital.
The baby, who police have said was only a matter of weeks old, was pronounced dead at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
The 38-year-old who was arrested under suspicion of overlaying, has been bailed until August 11, 2014.
The term ‘overlaying’ is understood to mean a person over the age of 16 lying in bed with a child and causing them to suffocate, having been drinking alcohol.
Police have said their investigation is continuing.
