A YOUNG Chesham Bois artist has added her mark to the Royal Wedding by being commissioned to draw a picture of the happy couple for a commemorative box.

Caroline de Peyrecave, 24, was commissioned by Halcyon Days, which offers a range of luxury products, to draw Prince William and his bride to be, Kate Middleton in charcoal.

The pictures are now on 350 limited edition commemorative boxes which are being sold for £495.

Caroline said: “It is really exciting. I hadn't really drawn any royalty before.

“The fact it is being sold all over the world is incredible.”

The artist, who mostly works in oil and charcoal, completed the pictures in a week drawing from photographs.

She usually paints life size pictures but was asked to paint smaller pictures, which were then shrunk down to about 2cm for the box.

She added: “I find it all very interesting. Will and Kate are around the same age as me and I can relate to them.”

Caroline has recently moved to London from Chesham Bois, where she grew up, but two pieces of her work can be seen at the Buckinghamshire Art Society exhibition at the Fitzwilliams Centre in Beaconsfield from April 30 to May 2 from 10am to 5pm daily. Entry is free.
