Typical BFP. The headline gives the impression that Cllr Bhatti is the founder of a newspaper for the blind.
.
Strange how the politician takes centre stage when much more worthy recipients come further down the page.

About 10 years on a local council , a money-making scam with a building society (eg Northern Rock) or be a convict (eg Ronson) who robbed ordinary folk through dodgy share dealing. Or like Fred the Shred and all the rest.
.
They all get 'honours' - which would type of title would you chose and which particular 'honour' would you like ?
.
You will have to join a some sort of gang , however.

I agree with Scarletto - certainly about the opening sentence - it DOES say, 'A Chiltern District Councillor AND the founder of a newspaper for the blind ARE among those et cetera' (my capitals) making it clear they were different people. (I notice no one has commented on the unnecessary apostrophe in the headline 'Bucks residents' recognised in New Year's Honours list').

Breaking news :- Apoplectic Proselytizer Admonishes news medium for Flagrant Abuse of Catastrophic Apostrophe.
.
'Things can only get better' as The Blairs used to sing (and still do, it is said). They meant The Blairs Affairs only, I think.
.
Happy New Year to everybody else.

Much as I'd enjoy moaning about apostrophe abuse, by "professionals", I won't.
....
It's such a relief to actually get punctuation.

Ah yes , the benefits of Disambiguation are manifold. But a glance at any local paper or blogging or tele-texting / tweeting type site will show the decline of these literal symbols in our declining language abilities.
.
It is a shame but non-use of punctuation is what some people seem to regard as forward-looking and progressive. But it is in fact retrograde and regressive and shows a language being transformed to accomodate the lowest common denominators.
.
All the nuances of a finely tuned universal all-embracing means of communication are discarded or mocked and flushed down the dank disaffected drains of the illiterate. After centuries of evolutionary effort by the likes of Beowolf , Chaucer , Shakespeare et alia etc etc. If Dennis Potter were alive today , he would be turning in his grave
.
But that's Progress in the Modern World for you. So we are told - by you know who.

My comment was about incorrect superfluous punctuation not missing punctuation, but anyway a Happy New Year (except to the Blogger of Evil of course).
