LITTLE Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock is urging south Buckinghamshire residents to help change lives by getting involved in Sport Relief.

The High Wycombe singer and her group mates are recording the official single for Sports Relief this year – a cover of Cameo's 1986 hit Word Up.

The 22-year-old touched back down in the UK after the X-Factor winners visited hospitals and sung to children (video below) in slums during a trip to Liberia to see how the money raised by Sport Relief was spent.

The former Sir William Ramsay School pupil is urging residents to take part in the Sainsbury’s Sports Games Mile events being held in High Wycombe, Prestwood and Waddesdon or the Swimathons in Amersham, Marlow and Princes Risborough over the weekend of March 21-23.

She said: “We just got back from Liberia where we visited a project that’s been helped with money raised for Sport Relief.

“It was shocking to see how tough people’s lives are in the slums there, but knowing how the money raised really does help change lives was inspiring.

“That’s why I hope everyone gets involved, signs up to the Sainsbury’s Sports Games and does their bit this year.”

On her arrival back in the UK on Monday to promote the Sport Relief single, Leigh-Anne tweeted: “Liberia was one of the best experiences. Mixers lets raise as much money as we can for @sportrelief Leigh x.”
