SAILING in Cookham will be even safer thanks to a new £9,000 boat.
A grant from Sport England has helped buy Cookham Reach Sailing Club a new safety vessel in time for the new season beginning March 21.
The boat arrived from Barnet Marine in February.
Courses in safety boat handling and being rescued will take place in the spring in association with the Royal Yachting Association.
The club is holding an open day on Saturday May 8.
Spokesman Susan Kronfli said: “All are welcome to see what excitement and fun can be had by getting out on the water and learning to sail.”
