Gallery celebrates despite painting theft

THE painting stolen three weeks ago from the Stanley Spencer Gallery is yet to be recovered but volunteers celebrated its 50th anniversary nonetheless.
The milestone was marked with an evening of poetry, music and entertainment at The Odney Club.
It was written, produced and presented by Cookham residents Chrissy Rosenthal and Claire Phillpot, who said: “We like to think it is an evening Stanley would have enjoyed enormously himself.”
