Rainforest blooms in Chesham church
A RAINFOREST will be recreated at a Chesham church this weekend to raise awareness of deforestation in Borneo.
Artwork and poetry from schoolchildren will also be on display at the event, which highlights the plight of endangered orang utans that live in the rainforests.
The exhibition, called Orang Utan Youth Art, will be held at Broadway Baptist Church from 10am until 4pm on Saturday and features work from children at three Chesham schools.
Organiser Janet Murphy said: "The youth of Chesham care about what's going on. If you read some of the poetry, the children really know what's going on. They are saying look after the orang utans. It really is moving."
She added: "It's going to be a fun event with a serious message. Chesham is a Fairtrade town and we care very much for the environment."
A campaign table giving information on, among other things, how to adopt an orang utan will also be there.

Many thanks to Janet, the Broadway Baptist Church and especially the children for drawing attention to the issues facing the orangutan.
Hope to see you at the event.
