More than 50 ladies took a swing and embraced the Christmas spirit early this year by strolling onto the golf course in their best Christmas hats and jumpers.

The group did their utmost to spread the Christmas cheer at a Ladies Par three Fun Day Event at Wycombe Heights Golf Centre in Loudwater this week and raised hundreds of pounds for charity.

In total, the 57 women who took part clubbed together to chip-in £300 for the DEBRA charity.

The national charity supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa, a genetic skin condition which currently has no cure and causes skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch.

Many prizes were on offer throughout the day, but it was the coveted award of best Christmas hat which each entrant was most keen to win.

Jann Howard was eventually judged to have won the best hat award, while Liz Keens won the low handicap prize and Carole Davies was the high handicap winner on the day.

Graham Rolland, Wycombe Heights Golf Centre general manager, said: “I’d like to thank all of the ladies that came out in force to help make this festive event such a success and who helped support and raise money for such a worthwhile charity.”
