A long-standing village catering business was sold last week - but the new owners are hopeful they can continue to be the bread and butter of Flackwell Heath.

Rounds Sandwiches, based in Swains Market, has been a part of the community for almost 25 years, but last week a new chapter in the company’s history was started when the former owner decided it was time to part with the business.

Over the years the shop has been developed and has seen hundreds of residents in the district be employed, a situation which the new owners hope will continue.

Former owner, Steve Colley, took over the sandwich shop and catering delivery service about 15 years ago with the aim to serve Flackwell Heath and the surrounding towns and villages.

However, after building the business up Mr Colley has said it is time for a new challenge.

He said: “In the 15 years I have been involved in the business we have continued to build on our service across parts of the county.

“It has been a very enjoyable period, but I think now it is time for a new challenge and for someone else to take over.

“I will continue to be involved for a few more months and I am sure we will continue to do our bit for the local community.”

The new owners, Mr and Mrs Mann, also run a Londis convenience store in Penn.
