BEAVER leader Queenie Creswick has lowered the flag on her 30 years with the 1st Flackwell Heath Scouts. The 70-year-old has mentored about 500 boys in the last three decades and was given a farewell party at the Scout Hut in Lawrence Way last Thursday.

FLACKWELL Heath British Legion hosts a rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza this evening, featuring Cookie & The Blue Jays, with £5 tickets available from George O’Leary on 01628 526360. There will also be live music from Kim Selleck tomorrow night.

WOOBURN and Bourne End Parish Council is set to take ownership of Cherwell Green in Bourne End, after Red Kite housing association’s offer to gift the land to the small authority.

THE Catfish Kings will return to the stage at Loudwater British Legion tonight from 8pm. Members £9, non-members £10.

THE Wooburn Club held a ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ on Wednesday to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

BOURNE END Community Centre hosts the Bar Quiz on Thursday from 8.30pm. Admission £1, winners take the pot. Call 01628 522604 for details.

BBC Radio 4 show Any Questions? is to be broadcast live from the Community Centre in Bourne End on August 17, as part of the Community Association's 50th anniversary celebrations. The panel members are still to be confirmed, though tickets are now available from the office on 01628 522604, and are free. There are only a limited number. Doors open at 6.30pm and everyone must be seated by 7.15pm.
