A SURVEY to address parking issues in South Bucks will involve a study looking at building multi-storey car parks across the district.

Councillors gave the go-ahead for a £25,000 review in July, and last week agreed for the cash to include a feasibility study into adding new tiers to existing council car parks.

SBDC operates ten car parks across the district, including town centre sites on Burkes Road, Beaconsfield and near Packhorse Road in Gerrards Cross.

The money will pay for a review of parking in the area, as well looking at building upwards to increase capacity.

Advice to councillors stated: “In order to ensure that a scheme, to address any shortfall in car park capacity identified by the survey in Beaconsfield or Gerrards Cross, is progressed expeditiously, officers were requesting an estimated £25,000 from general reserves to appoint architects to undertake feasibility and design services for construction of an additional deck or decks on one or more of the Council’s existing car parks and to seek the planners’ views."

A price increase in South Bucks car parks was announced last month, with SBDC due to consult on a 10p per transaction increase and a rise in season ticket prices.

And a Christmas parking offer will see two free days of parking in all ten council Car parks on December 7 and 14 in a bid to boost trade for businesses.
