BROTHERS from a school in Gerrards Cross took their enjoyment for chess to the next level when they competed in the Bucks Chess Grand Prix.
The two boys from Thorpe House School, in Oval Way, had the backing of the home crowd as the event was held in the school grounds.
Oliver Tulloch (Year 3) and his brother Max (Year 5) played against other children in the county including those from neighbouring school Gayhurst.
Oliver was crowned winner of the U9s tournament and was presented with a trophy (pictured).
Max too played well and was placed fourth in the U11s competition.
While Max has been competing in tournaments for a few years, Oliver has only recently started and he had to overcome the challenge of a 16-year-old to claim his prize.
The competition was open to all boys and girls in the county.
