A SCOUT leader says his Hazlemere-based group have been overwhelmed by the support of people in the community after their building was destroyed in a fire at the weekend.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are currently investigating the incident.
Authorities were called to the fire in Beaumont Way, Hazlemere, at about 7.30pm on Sunday, July 13.
The 11th High Wycombe Scout Group leader said the building will have to be knocked down and built again, but he warned it could be months before work begins.
John Webb said: “We have had so many people come up to us and offer to help us. We have had people donating new equipment and some have offered for us to use their scout huts for now.”
He added: “Hopefully we can catch whoever did it. They didn’t just destroy a building; they have affected all the people who use it.”
