My thoughts go out to the family & friends of both victims of this tragic accident. In a little over 4 weeks there have been 4 fatalities & one other serious accident on a 3 mile stretch of the A404 between Penn Street & Amersham. In the 10 years I have lived here there have been at least 12 fatalities on this road from Earl Howe Road to Amersham. I don't know what is wrong with the road..bends, junctions, hills or signage, but I know from using the road 2 or 3 times a day, excessive speed must play a major part. It is about time the council/police have a serious look at this road to improve its terrible safety record. They could start by switching the street lighting back on at the junctions!

Dr Forti was one of the kindest most personable people I have ever met not to mention long term family friend. The most upsetting thing here is no one is learning from the lives we are losing, when are the council going to sit up and listen? When are they going to monitor the road more carefully and make would be drink drivers think twice before getting into their cars? tragic waste of yet another life.

It is very sad indeed that an innocent man has died. But I think you'll find that it is down to the Police to "monitor the road" and enforce drink driving and nothing to do with the council actually.

And good luck with that, as you can drive past a Police car 10 miles over the speed limit, with a can of beer in one hand and a mobile phone in the other, and they still won't bother to pull you over.

was it drinking driving that caused this accident?

My thoughts go out to the family and friends at this tragic time.
