BILLY Gallacher will once again be donning his Elvis gear to raise money for Scannappeal.

The Downley resident has raised more than £35,000 since he started running the event 24 years ago.

He performs the Elvis tribute act with his band The Bonquas at the Community Centre in Hazlemere every year.

He said they perform hits from throughout Elvis' career but to celebrate the charity's 25th year they will perform 25 snippets of number one hits in the middle section.

Billy said: "Scannappeal is just a brilliant charity. I have not had to use any of the equipment yet but a lot of people I know have."

He is a huge Elvis fan and has his own memoribila room at his home.

He said: "Elvis came along at just the right time for me when I was a teenager. "It was just so good I stuck with it. His music is so varied. It is not just rock and roll."

The concert is on Friday, August 17 at the Hazlemere Community Centre in Rose Avene at 8pm. Tickets are £12.50 from Billy on 01494 439912.
