THE potential development of the Buckmaster Playing Fields will be discussed during a public meeting in Cressex tomorrow night.

The field off Barry Close has been earmarked as an option for additional employment space under Wycombe District Council’s Local Plan.

Residents responded by handing the council a petition signed by 584 people, as they attempt to safeguard the playing fields from development.

A public meeting to discuss the matter has been organised by Cllr Brian Pearce, WDC ward member for Booker and Cressex, for Wednesday.

It will be held at Cressex Community School in Holmers Lane from 6.30pm.

WDC’s Local Plan public consultation has closed but the authority said it will still accept comments and feedback submitted by residents up until the conclusion of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
