POLICE are investigating a report where a woman was forced into the back of a van in High Wycombe and driven to Stokenchurch where she was dropped off unharmed.

A 19-year-old female reported to police that she had been forced into the rear of a white van on Friday, August 29 at 4.30pm.

She said she was walking in Cotswold Way, Downley when she was approached by a man who grabbed her and forced her into the back of a white van.

She was then driven and dropped off unharmed at Eastwood Road, Stokenchurch, police said.

The victim spoke to a passing couple. The woman, thought to be named Kate, drove her back to her home address in High Wycombe.

The offender was a white man, described as having short grey hair and in his fifties.

The van is believed to be a small white transit-style van. No registration details are available.

Investigating officer, Det Sgt Richard Earl said: "This is an unusual case and we are investigating the report fully. I would like to appeal to the passer-by, called Kate, and anyone else with her, who assisted the victim to get home, to contact police, as she would have valuable information to progress our investigation.

"Fortunately, incidents such as this nature are extremely rare and I would urge anyone with information to contact me."
