A SECOND public consultation event will be held over plans to build about 100 homes opposite the base of a High Wycombe furniture firm.

Verco announced in March it was consolidating its operations and working with developer Taylor Wimpy to release land to the south of its base between Chapel Lane and Mill End Road.

Taylor Wimpy invited residents to comment upon the initial plans for the site later that month and will hold a second event next week so residents can see how the scheme has evolved.

Damon Turner, Senior Land Manager for Taylor Wimpey West London, said: “Our previous consultation event was well attended and the feedback we received has proved very useful in helping to shape our proposals for land adjacent to Verco.

“More than 90 percent of people who took part in our consultation thought that the proposed development site was a suitable location for new homes, while 97% expressed their support for the development of brownfield land in the town.

“We have used the comments we received to help us develop our proposals and people now have the chance to provide further feedback before we finalise our planning application.”

The second public consultation event will be held at Millbrook Combined School on September 9 between 3pm and 8pm.

Those unable to attend will be able to view the consultation material and submit their comments about the proposals at www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/verco-wycombe from September 9.
