A TEENAGER who died in High Wycombe this week was travelling home from work on a motorbike he had only recently started riding, when he was in collision with a car.

Tributes from colleagues and friends have poured in for 18-year-old Lloyd Mitchell, who tragically died following the collision near the Rye on Wednesday, September 10.

The young man from High Wycombe was only using the motorbike because a friend who normally took him to work at the Biffa depot, in the London Road, was unwell on the day.

The emergency services were called to the collision between the motorbike and a beige Toyota estate car at the junction of Chestnut Avenue and Bassetsbury Lane at about 11.45am but Lloyd sadly died at the scene.

Lloyd has only joined Biffa in July and their Municipal business manager at South Bucks DC, Darren Judd, had added to the tributes for the teenager.

He said: “We are all in a state of shock, even disbelief, about the tragic and sudden death of Lloyd shortly after he left our South Bucks depot to go home yesterday.

“He only joined the Biffa team in July as a collection vehicle loader, but quickly proved to be a popular, hard-working and thoroughly professional member of staff.

“Lloyd made many friends here, was highly valued, and we will miss him every working day.

“On behalf of us all, I offer heartfelt condolences to Lloyd’s family and friends at this most difficult of times.”
