Thames Valley Police has referred its response to a teenager walking in a road in Hughenden on Monday to the Independent Police Complaints Commission after the young man was hit by a car and died.

The 19-year-old from Reading was hit by a blue Vauxhall Mokka in Valley Road shortly before 6.40pm.

He was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital but later died from his injuries.

Police said the IPCC referral is concerning the calls the force received about a man walking in a road before he died.

Police said they are not able to offer any further comment about the case as it is now with the IPCC.

Police are still appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101.
