A burglar who stole jewellery from a house in Downley has been jailed for four years.

Vincent Trillow, 34, of Aveling Road, in High Wycombe, pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday.

Between 3pm and 3.40pm on June 12, Trillow was involved in a burglary in which jewellery and other items belonging to the 59-year-old victim were stolen from a house in Downley Common.

Trillow was arrested and charged the following day.

Detective Constable Caroline Timmis, from Local CID High Wycombe, said: “Thames Valley Police will not tolerate criminals in our community and I am pleased that a burglar has been taken off the streets so that he cannot prey on other victims.”
