A MAN from High Wycombe has been charged with terrorism offences after spending two weeks in custody being quizzed by police.

19-year-old Yousaf Shah Syed was formally charged today with committing acts of terrorism, jointly engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect to their intention, contrary to section 5(1) of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Two other men arrested on the same day have also been charged, with a fourth released without charge on November 15.

Syed was detained on November 6 after 40 officers, some armed, swooped on a Desborough Avenue property.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service's Counter Terrorism Command (SO15) are working with the SE Counter Terrorism Unit and MI5.

The other men charged were Nadir Ali Sayed, age 21 yrs from Hounslow and Haseeb Hamayoon, age 27 from Hayes.

All three are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court this afternoon, Thursday, November 20.
