A bungled mail-out of voting forms to more than 1,000 people did not breach any guidelines on confidential data, council bosses say.

Wycombe District Council confirmed last week that 1,200 postal vote registration form documents went to the wrong people across the district.

Readers contacted the BFP to complain about the error, and questioned the council's ability to keep confidential information secure when it comes to the general election in May.

After admitting an external printing error last week, WDC spokesman, Sue Robinson, said: “In line with our normal practices we are conducting an internal review and would like to reassure residents that our processes and practices comply with data protection legislation.”
