Anti-social motorcyclists are back on the move and making Wycombe residents’ lives a misery after a police operation to crack down on the nuisance ended last year.

Police said since the successful Operation Gravel, which saw a number of bikes seized and riders prosecuted, reports of dirt bikers in and around Kingswood have risen.

Officers added that they are aware of the problem and want people to continue reporting the riders so they can take action.

Sergeant Matthew Lloyd said: “A considerable number of bikes were seized by the teams, a number of riders were prosecuted for driving offences and partner agencies were able to exert influence on some of the rider's parents.

“Consequently, the number of reports reduced, and Op Gravel was closed down. Using the woods and surrounding roads became, we were told, a much more pleasant experience.

“However, a couple of reports have again been made of motorbikes being ridden in the woods and we are keen to keep a close eye on the situation.

“If you see a bike being ridden in an anti-social manner, for example, in the woods, or dangerously on or off road, please let us know on the 101 number or contact the Neighbourhood Sergeant.”

Sgt Lloyd said the neighbourhood force cannot promise an officer will attend every incident, but stressed that all reports are monitored and only reported incidents can justify dedicating limited resources to the problem.
