Forensic investigators were called out to two houses which had been cordoned off by police this afternoon after an alleged assault.
Police were called to Wellesbourne Gardens, in Terriers, shortly after 12.30pm and a forensic team arrived at after 2pm.
Officers have so far only confirmed a female was taken to hospital with injuries, while a man has been arrested.
