Detectives have described a fight which left a 17-year-old permanently disfigured as a “vicious” assault and said the attackers five and half years’ jail sentence highlights the severity of the crime.
Zane Khan, aged 19, of Dashwood Avenue in High Wycombe, bit off his victim's ear during a fight in High Wycombe in October 2013, after a dispute over a family relationship, a court heard last week.
The teenager had previously been found guilty by jury of one count of wounding with intent, after a three day trial at Aylesbury Crown Court in October last year.
Det Con Chris Hatton from Force CID at High Wycombe police station said: “This was a vicious attack on a young man who has been left permanently disfigured.
“This sentence reflects the severity of the attack and shows how offences such as this are not acceptable and will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police.”
The injury required multiple surgery procedures and the victim has been left with permanent scarring.
