Update: incredible pictures show the devestating damage to the sheds and houses.

Two houses were damaged by a fire in High Wycombe last night.

The blaze initially started in a garden shed in Green Road, near the Royal Grammar School, at about 11pm and soon spread to the two adjacent properties.

Firefighters have now confirmed an "electrical fault" caused the fire.

No one is believed to have been injured in the fire, but the authorities described the buildings as 10 to 15 per cent fire damaged, with smoke causing about 60 per cent damage.

Firefighters were called shortly after 11pm yesterday evening and used one jet, two hose reels, four sets of breathing apparatus, a positive pressure ventilation fan and an environmental pack and removed three gas cylinders to safety.

Two crews from High Wycombe and one from Beaconsfield attended, along with an officer and the British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service vehicle, based at Marlow Fire Station.

One crew remained at the scene until 3.30am.
