A housing agency became the first organisation to nail its colours to the mast in support of a new charity fun run after it agreed to support the cause this summer.

Red Kite Community Housing has got behind hospice charity Helen and Douglas House’s ‘Rainbow Run’ on the Rye.

The colourful race will see runners showered in multi-coloured paints as they navigate the course on June 6.

And the social housing group has sponsored one of five ‘paint stations’ on the route.

Red Kite’s Todd Ricketts said: “Helen and Douglas House is a cause we want to champion and support, and this is an ideal way to do it.

“A ‘Running Club’ has already been set-up here at Red Kite and we will have two strong teams ready to take on the other sponsors on the day.

“We are looking forward to seeing as many of our residents on the day as possible.”

Helen and Douglas House, which runs a hospice for children and young adults and supports their families, is still looking for firms to get involved.
