SCHOOL pupils were bouncing with delight after the unveiling of a new trampoline.

Penn School, in Church Road, Penn, received sporting equipment totalling about £8,500 from High Wycombe charity Kids in Sport.

The school caters for children with complex needs such as hearing, speech problems and autism – for which trampolining is particularly beneficial.

The youngsters' faces “were filled with surprise and anticipation” as the trampoline was unveiled, according to Roger Budd, chairman of the charity.

Pupils spent the morning of January 21 trying out the new equipment.

Mr Budd said Kids in Sport was “delighted” to be able to help the school which he described as “such an incredible place”.

He said: “Through its amazing staff the school is doing such an incredible job with the children – as shown recently with the outstanding Ofsted inspection grade.”

Kids in Sport was set up by Roger and Pam Budd, of School Close, High Wycombe to honour their sports-mad son Julian Budd who died aged 33 from a rare breathing condition in 2007.

The organisation, which was Wycombe Wanderers charity of last season, has given out grants totalling £80,000 to schools, groups and individuals in the Wycombe area.
