A MEMORIAL fund set up in memory of Kyrece Francis has now generated over £10,000, as people continue to pledge on what would have been the teenager’s 14th birthday.
After a renewed appeal on Facebook, donations of £14 have been made to the fund to mark the birthday of the popular Great Marlow School pupil and talented footballer.
Set up by his friends following his tragic death on July 22, the Kyrece Memorial fund has smashed the original £2000 target to provide lifesaving equipment along the Thames path near where he died.
The current total stands at £10,404, which organisers will use to buy life jackets, buoys and awareness signs.
Recent pledges include group ‘Legends of Marlow’, which donated £500 from sales of its calendars to the cause.
A large turnout is expected along the streets of Marlow on Saturday as people pay their respects during a procession from Great Marlow School to All Saints Church.
