DRINKERS can now raise their glasses to toast the return of a Marlow pub after its closure for a refurbishment to give it more of a ‘local’ pub feel.
The George and Dragon on the Causeway has reopened after an overhaul, with Marlow Mayor Suzanne Brown cutting the ribbon before tucking in to the new menu.
Owner Whitbread says it wants to give the watering hole more of a community feel, with manager Julie Hall saying the refit has ‘put the heart back’ into the pub.
Katrina Lawson, Head of Marketing for Whitbread Restaurants added: "We've tried to create a local community pub and restaurant with great food and drink that has local influence.
"We want The George and Dragon to be a place where people feel happy to bring their family and friends, with a cosy atmosphere where they can spend time together in an environment that is home from home."
