FLORAL tributes and messages have been left at the scene in Marlow Bottom where a man died after being crushed by construction equipment while renovating a house.

Lance Winder was pronounced dead by paramedics last Wednesday after it is understood a digger fell on him while carrying out work on a building site on Marlow Bottom Road last Wednesday.

The BFP understands Mr Winder had recently acquired the house and was working on making it a home.

A message has been left at the scene paying tribute to the 48-year-old and thanking village residents for bringing flowers to pay their respects.

The message reads: "Lance Winder will like to thank all the neighbourhood of Marlow Bottom for your kind words and flowers.

"This place made him very happy and part of him will remain here forever."

An inquest into his death was opened this week, with the cause of death listed as a traumatic head injury.

The tragic incident was last week referred to the Health and Safety Executive, who went to work alongside Thames Valley Police to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.
