LIKE it or not, Christmas is shimmering on the horizon, and organisers of Marlow’s late-night festive shopping extravaganza say shoppers have something special in store this year.

Marlow Chamber of Commerce have organised the popular Late Night Shopping event for decades, and will continue the tradition this year on Thursday, December 4.

And though keeping tight-lipped about what’s in store, Chamber president Tim Graham revealed the Marlow festive favourite may feature something a little different.

He said: "We are waiting to announce it but it is going to be the best one yet with a little twist to it this year.

"It’s a fantastic event and always slots well into Marlow’s festive calendar."

Last year saw the High Street closed for the evening as live reindeers, a brass band, carol singing and a nativity procession instead took over the town’s main shopping stretch.

The Chamber’s evening was traditionally when the switch was flicked on Marlow’s Christmas lights.

But that duty is now performed during Marlow Town Council’s own ‘Switch on and Shop’ event a week earlier on November 20, with a special 'mystery' guest set to do the honours
