BEHIND every successful school is a successful school office, and the team at one of the county's top Grammar Schools has been recognised as one of the very best.
The admin team at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School in Marlow walked away as runners-up nationally in the National Support Staff Awards 2014 last month.
Four staff members attended the glitzy bash in Birmingham alongside the cream of the country’s school support workers.
And nominated for the collective team award, the hard-working crew only narrowly lost out to Baxter College in Worcestershire, receiving a trophy for their efforts.
National Association of School Business Management Bethany Cullen said: “Support staff are often the unsung heroes of schools and are of course their hidden army making sure that schools are operationally fit.
“Everyone remembers the impact of their first teacher, but without the support staff at that school would they have received the same fantastic experience.”
Borlase was the only Bucks school which made it to the final stages in the multi-category national contest.
