CELEBRITY chef Tom Kerridge has been given the honour of switching on Marlow’s Christmas lights in a special ceremony next month.

The two Michelin star culinary supremo will flick the switch aboard a double decker bus on the High Street on Thursday, November 20.

The TV star and owner of the Hand and Flowers has become a much-loved adopted Marlovian since wowing residents and visitors alike with his award-winning pub food.

He said: “I’m incredibly proud to be asked to switch on the lights in Marlow.

“I am so happy to call Marlow my home and I thank everybody for their amazing support over the last nine and a half years.

“Thank you for making us feel so welcome and part of the thriving, friendly and family based community."

Tom takes on the job after a hugely successful year which has seen him rise to the top of the bestseller charts for a second time, along with a new TV series.

And along with his wife Beth, the TV star is also gearing up for the opening of his second venture The Coach next month.

Last year, Strictly winner Tom Chambers addressed crowds of thousands during Marlow Town Council's Switch on and Shop event.
