A TREASURE hunt on the streets of Marlow will be introduced this year to coincide with the town’s big festive switch-on.

Prizes and special treats are up for grabs during the 24-stop challenge around the businesses of Marlow as part of ‘Switch On and Shop’ on Thursday, November 20.

The retail trail sees participating shops and businesses giving away goodies as treasure hunters dash across town to get their map stamped.

Town Mayor, Cllr Suzanne Brown said: "We’ve had lots of interest from the retailers in Marlow.

"The aim is to boost business for them during the Christmas period by having people visit their shops as they follow the Treasure Trail around the town. It’s also great fun for shoppers!"

Last week, celebrity chef Tom Kerridge was confirmed as the mystery guest to clamber aboard an open-top bus and flick the switch on the town's Christmas lights - which the adopted Marlovian called an 'incredible honour'.

Shoppers will be able to pick up a leaflet with a Treasure Trail map at participating shops, Marlow Information Centre, Marlow Library and at the Marlow Town Council office in Court Garden.

The completed, stamped forms are to be handed in or posted through the letterbox at the Marlow Town Council office at Court Garden House, by noon on December 19, when the prizes will be drawn by the Mayor.
