A RESTAURANT owner has reassured customers there are no plans to close his one of his two Marlow restaurants, despite applying for planning permission to turn it into a house.

An application has been made to Wycombe District Council over converting the Tiger Cub on Station Road into two three bedroom houses.

But restaurateur Abdul Rob said he is simply wants to know whether the plan would be viable, adding permission lasts for five years.

He said: "I have no plans to close it, I just want to get an idea of whether or not the council will allow it.

"Five years gives me a lot of time to think about these things. I have been in this town for a long time and I do not plan to close."

The Tiger Cub - the smaller of Mr Rob’s Marlow eateries, was opened in 2005.

Last week, Kodor Ali from his other restaurant Tiger Garden on West Street scooped a prestigious award, being named of the Year 2014 for the county in the Bangladesh Caterers Association awards at Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair.

Owner Abdul Rob, who has run the successful curry house for over a decade, praised Mr. Ali for his continuous hard work and dedication.

He said: "It was a really wonderful occasion. I’m really happy for him and for the restaurant.

"We have been open for 14 years and it is the best ever, I’m so pleased for my chef."
