PARKING will be free in Marlow all day today, to coincide with the Christmas light-switch on in a few hours time.

Fees in all Wycombe District Council-operated car parks will be waived for the day as thousands descend on the High Street to see celebrity chef Tom Kerridge flick the switch at 6.30pm.

Many of the town’s shops will also stay open late and will have special offers and free treats to celebrate Marlow Town Council’s second annual ‘Switch on and Shop’ event.

The High Street will be closed to traffic from 6pm until 7pm to allow for the crowds and the big red open-top bus where Tom will do the honours.

WDC offers Marlow three concessionary parking days per year. The other days have been agreed upon as Sunday, December 7 and Saturday, December 27.
