The prestigious surroundings of Eton College will play host to a Marlow choir next week as they take to the stage with a full orchestra.
Marlow Community Choir - based at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School - will perform Edward Elgar's classic English oratorio Dream of Gerontius in the impressive School Hall on Saturday, January 24 at 7.30pm.
For the 120-strong choir, the concert will mark a return to the historic venue at the famous private school - built in tribute to Etonians killed in the Boer War - after its success there with Verdi's Requiem in 2013.
Conductor Gillian Dibden said: "This is the perfect venue for such an English choral classic by one of England's greatest composers.
"In addition to its impressive architecture, this fine venue offers comfort both for the performers and audience, as well as having a very fine acoustic."
Tickets are available at £13 each(£11 concessions) either on line at www.mccab.org.uk or by phone on 07746 307218.
