A Marlow business success story - one of the major employers in the town - is making a strong new year pledge to take on over 40 new staff before Easter.

IT firm Softcat – which now has around 400 people at its Fieldhouse Lane base – hopes to bolster its ranks quicker than usual as it steps up its operation.

The new roles will be created across its UK offices, which include London, Leeds, Manchester and Bristol, as well as its Marlow home.

Softcat is known for bringing in large numbers of university leavers on graduate schemes.

A bumper year for the business also saw it increase profits by 30 per cent to £35.5m last year, and rise to second place in the UK Great Places to Work rankings.

Colin Brown, managing director, said: “We’re delighted to have earned this reputation, especially given the extraordinary lengths we go to look after our staff.

“With five UK offices, we’ve plenty of scope for recruiting throughout the year, and we hope to find at least 40 new candidates by Easter.”
