A Marlow FM presenter has made it down to the final five of a national competition to become the next big thing on Kiss 100.

Cleo Twinam, who currently presents the Breakfast Show on Marlow FM, entered the competition to become a new presenter on Kiss 100.

The Kiss 100 Chosen One competition put hopeful radio stars through their paces with a series of auditions and challenges, offering them a chance to be heard on their station, seen on Kiss TV and interview big stars at Kiss events.

Now, the prospect of becoming a national radio star is within touching distance as Cleo impressed the judges and made it down to the final five contestants.

The 26-year-old, who has lived in Marlow her whole life until she recently moved to Maidenhead, began her path to national radio stardom on January 25, when she travelled down to the Westfield shopping centre in Shepherds Bush for a live audition.

After successfully making it through the audition, she went on to face the panel of judges including Kiss producer Andy Roberts and breakfast show presenter, Rickie Hayward-Williams.

Hundreds of people turned up to the live auditions, but that was whittled down to just 20 hopeful presenters.

Cleo said: “We had to read through a script and tell them a bit about ourselves. I was chosen by the judges to be one of 20 finalists and I was just so excited.”

After making it through to the second round, Cleo took part in an activity day at Kiss 100 studios on Saturday February 7, which involved doing interviews and presenting, to narrow the 20 finalists down to just five lucky hopefuls.

Cleo impressed the Kiss production team with her skills and was chosen to be a part of the final five.

She said: “It was a really fun day full of activities but it was nerve-wracking. I'm so lucky to have got down to the final five.

“I’ve been given a taste of what it could be like to be a presenter on Kiss radio and this is the final hurdle now. I've done all I can and now it’s up to them.”

Now, Cleo has made a three-minute video to try and convince people that she should become the next Kiss presenter.

The video sees Cleo interviewing people on the streets of London about the BAFTAs.

The winner of the competition will be announced on Kiss FM on Monday and Cleo admits she is excited at the prospect of joining the team.

She said: “It’s really exciting, I'm so happy that I've made it this far.

I've always wanted to go into radio; I absolutely love being a presenter on Marlow FM. When I was a child I used to make music mixes with my friend on my karaoke machine. I’ve just always wanted to be on the radio.

“The whole experience has been amazing. It’s really given me a kick and proved that I can actually do this.”
