Students driving to a Marlow school are being told to register their number plates with staff in a bid to catch "irresponsible" parking after complaints.

Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School has issued a warning to pupils after residents in Moyleen Rise, Harwood Road and Penwood Road said bad parking was hampering access.

In a letter to students, head of Key Stage five Jane Bungey said: "Complaints have been received from local residents about irresponsible parking by sixth form students in nearby streets.

"If private cars are used, parking should be considerate at all times."

Staff have asked students to give them car details so any culprits can be found.

Borlase has a deal with Marlow Sports Club, with parking permits available for students in its Pound Lane car park.

It is not the first time residents have reacted to pupils’ parking, with Harwood Road homeowners raising the issue in 2012.

But students insisted they were doing nothing wrong, instead hitting back at residents for taking photographs of them and sticking notices to their cars.
