Changes could be made to a 60mph speed limit outside a Marlow school after parents, governors and councillors asked for help over the "accident waiting to happen".

Danesfield School is investigating how to make life easier and safer for parents, staff and pupils around the entrance on the A4155 between Marlow and Henley.

Last week, the school wrote to the Local Area Forum – a multi-agency partnership with funds to make improvements residents in the area – asking for help to install warning signs.

Johnny Carberry-Rogers, on behalf of the PTA, said: "The road is classified as national speed limit. If you’re coming from Henley towards Marlow, the entrance to the school is just after a bend and cars tend to come around that corner at speed.

"With cars slowing down to turn into the school, and cars coming from Marlow giving to cross the path of traffic, this is an accident waiting to happen."

Discussing the matter at the LAF meeting last week, Local Area Technician Stephen Underwood said he would investigate taking speed readings at the spot before further action could be taken.

Medemenham Parish Council is also looking into road safety along the stretch.
