A 19-year-old man has pleaded guilty today to a charge of attempted armed robbery after a failed knifepoint raid on a bank in Marlow earlier this month.
Harry Brunsden, of High Street, Marlow, also pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court to one count of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
The charges are in relation to an attempt on the HSBC branch in Marlow High Street shortly after midday on February 4, in which Brunsden demanded money before leaving empty handed.
He was arrested by officers in a police operation at an address close to the bank several hours later, and charged the following day.
No one was hurt during the robbery attempt, although police said staff at the bank had been left “understandably shaken”.
Brunsden has been bailed until he appears before Aylesbury Crown Court again for sentencing on March 27.
