A lush South Bucks backdrop will greet runners lining up at the start of a popular 10k race which returns this spring after popular demand.

The third annual Danesfield Dash will take place on Sunday, April 19, taking participants on a scenic, multi-terrain tour through the Chilterns around Marlow.

And organisers from Danesfield School PTA hope they can build on the success of last year’s race, which saw almost 300 runners take on the ten-kilometre course.

PTA chair Chris Wharton said "We're proud of how the event is growing year on year; with a fantastic route and friendly, encouraging marshals, there's a real buzz about the school on the day.

"We're looking forward to welcoming back previous runners and hopefully seeing new faces too."

Take-up for the run is expected to be large, after 93 per cent of runners reviewing previous years said they would run the race again.

Money raised will be used to improve the computer resources at Danesfield School.

The family friendly event also sees a children's race, a cake sale and refreshments.

Runners can register online at www.purplepatchrunning.com/index.php/danesfield-dash-10k or enter on the day.
