A bench set alight by vandals in Marlow last year is finally set to be replaced, after some confusion over who was responsible for fixing it.
The public seat outside Marlow Community Hospital on Victoria Road was destroyed by fire last March, with residents calling for it to be replaced.
But county, district and town councils said they did not own or maintain the bench, and Buckinghamshire Health NHS Trust does not own the land.
But now town councillor Richard Scott has stepped in to pay for a new bench, which will be unveiled on Monday.
Cllr Scott - also leader of Wycombe District Council – has pledged his £500 ward budget to pay for the new seat, which residents complained took too long to be sorted out.
